PRESS RELEASE

1-6-2012

HARTFORD-- Hartford Savings Bank today announced the closing of its branch office located in Rueben’s County Market, at 1566 E. Sumner Street in Hartford, effective March 31, 2012.

While the decision to consolidate the branch and reduce the work force was very difficult, the action is necessary in light of where we are in the current economic cycle.

Customers' accounts will not change, and customers will not have to take any action. Service to HSB customers during the transition will be seamless as our full service main office is located within a quarter mile of the County Market branch.

While we cannot control the local economy, especially the performance of our real estate markets, we can work very hard to make sure we continue to provide the best service to our customers in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

We recognize that our customers have always appreciated the free products and services that we offer. In our attempt to keep those free offerings in place, we have taken steps to reduce expenses which includes this branch consolidation. We sincerely appreciate the loyalty of our customers. We will work to earn your continued support as we move forward.

The ATM located in the store will stay in operation until April 30, 2012.
